Treaty of Waitangi
W.A.L.T: to understand how and why individuals and groups pass on and keep alive their culture and heritage.
We had to read a reading on the treaty. Then we completed a lot of work after we have done that. First we wrote our own class treaty (picture on the right) The treaty we made were some rules for our class room. Our reading group then signed our treaty with a fern pen with a quill nib. After we signed our treaty we marked the places in New Zealand where the treaty was signed.
We studied this topic to learn more about the Treaty of Waitangi and what it means to the people and to have a better understanding of it. What we learned was all the places in New Zealand where the Treaty was signed.I also learnt that it was signed in the Bay of Islands and that it was signed in 1840 and the fact that it was first celebrated in 1974.
The challenges we faced were spelling some of the words and pronouncing some of them too.
For this task we had to read the article Hana Koko witch was a reading about there was a guy that ill call him dad because that what they call him in the story so dad came home with a bag and all his family asked and tried to get him to open the dag but he didn't and evangelic he said it he said that on Sunday the day of the local market where he was going to dress up as Santa but not any Santa kiwi santa. Thats just a little lay out of the story the thing i found changing where proudly finding every thing I need
